Tranquil (Update 4) - Mansion map completed!
Updates
- Written music for the first stage
- Added various sound effects
- Finished the tile set for the first stage
- Finished the map of the first stage
- Designed and made concept art of Virgil
- Added an event system (used for making boss initiation work)
- Minor adjustment to movement speed.
Progress so far
I've been hard at work drawing the tile set for the first stage and finishing the map. Also, I have added a music and sound system, that seems to work to my satisfaction. While testing, I noticed a weird camera stutter, and realized this was due to the player having decimal speed. Given that I use a pixel perfect camera, this causes stutter. Also, the player moved a bit too fast, so I have adjusted the speed to an integer.
What's next?
I had hoped that this would have been the first gameplay video update, but I feel that I want to be close to finished with the first stage, including enemies, before I release actual footage of the game. With some luck, I'll reach that point by next weekend, but I plan to make a mid week update as well, perhaps showcasing some enemies.
